Fernhawk Games is a collection of classic games you can play free in your web browser: solitaire and other card games, tile and word games, number and logic puzzles, board games and a few quiet arcade games. There is nothing to install and nothing to sign up for.
Who makes it
One person. There is no company team behind this site, and no staff of designers or programmers.
How it is made
I am open about this, because you have a right to know:
- The code was written with AI tools. The programs behind these games were written with the help of two AI coding assistants, Claude (made by Anthropic) and Codex (made by OpenAI). I direct the work and test the games, and automatic tests check the game rules, but the assistants wrote much of the code.
- The pictures were made with AI image generation. The tiles, cards, animals, backgrounds and icons are AI-generated images that I chose and arranged. They are not photographs, and they were not drawn by hand.
- The rules are the classic public-domain rules. Every game here follows the traditional rules that people have played for generations and that belong to nobody. Many games have local variations, so each game page says which version this site uses.
What to expect
- Large, clear buttons and plain words.
- No timers you did not ask for.
- Your game is saved in your own browser, so you can close the page and come back.
- The computer players are ordinary game programs that run inside your browser. They do not learn from you and they do not send your moves anywhere.
Mistakes happen
A game made this way can have bugs. If something goes wrong, press Report a problem under the game and tell us what happened. We read every report.
